The Perfect Pair title came about last Wednesday night when we offered to assist the Launceston Mountain Bike Club (LMBC) to test their new electronic timing system. On arrival Damo had preloded some names and teams into the system and we became ‘the perfect pair’ consisting of ‘Lara Giddings’ and ‘Brian Wrightman’!

We ran along side the twilight mountain bike racers at the Youngtown course. It was a bit of fun and their system seems to be working Ok but they have a way to go to work out all the software options and get it setup exactly the way they want it. Our results can be found here. This new system can stream results live onto the WEB as they happen so in future events maybe people can see whats happening in semi real time. The king of the mountain is coming up soon and I’ll be having a crack at it this year, they may have it going for that?

Plenty of riding going on at the moment. Sharon has just left to ride with a new group out at Longford and I did a fantastic 131KM ride last Sunday to the top of the Sidling and back. The Sidling ride was very cold, 0.7 degrees at the bottom of the pass, isn’t it still summer! This Sunday we are riding out to Pipers Brook and back. A few in the group are training for a trip to the Pyrenees in early June and trying to get plenty of hill miles in the legs.
