Black Bluff – Winterbrook Falls – Paddys Lake

A mixed bag of stuff on this trip. Old tramway track, waterfall, highland Lake and a summit. Our 150th GA logged Geocache and another two points on the Peak Baggers List. Another great Sirius Tas cache in the Gauntlet series as well.

We used the Winterbrook Falls tramway track up through the 'Eye of the Needle' and part of the Maxwells track on the return journey. Very steep from Winterbrook up to the Needle and some close in scrub near the top. Quite exposed up on top here with nothing to the West but the full force of the Westerlies. You could get very exposed here in the wrong conditions. We had a beautiful sunny day today. The falls only had a dribble coming over the escarpment today so we will come back at a more suitable time for them.

Light breeze blowing on top in brilliant sunny and clear conditions but not to hot. Some haze out to sea but nice and clear in most other directions. Great views of Cradle area and Roland and and and, so many peaks in view. Some people on the Penguin Cradle Trail arrived at Paddys lake late in the afternoon to setup camp and two guys who came up from the Leven Canyon end. We both had another great day on another great peak. A decent days walk.
