Scott 24HR – National Champion at Age 50
Quick update for our non Facebook friends (full report in the coming days)
The Scott 24HR mountain bike race / National 24HR Championships was a very long undertaking and commitment but you need challenges in your life that push your boundaries at times. You can’t do these things without the help and assistance of others. Sharon putting up with the endless 5AM zwift sessions and being the best pit crew you could ask for looking after my every need for the whole 24 hours. Coach Adam for making my legs and body pump out consistent laps lap after lap.
I stopped at 27 laps before the full 24 hours was up as there was nothing more to be achieved as I could not make it back into the top ten and it was really only making stats and adding to the wear and tear on my body. My goal was to win Masters-5 (50-54 age) national 24 hour championship and I achieved that, anything else was just a bonus. The 27 laps is roughly 340km with 7,000M of elevation gain on the Mt Stromlo course we road.
I now need a very long sleep and perhaps I will dream about getting back into paddling now I have a free morning or two.

Congratulations Colin – a well earned achievement.
Now you can ease back !!!!
