4 days to 3 peaks
My next event is the Scody 3 peaks this coming Sunday, 4 days away at the time of writing. The forecast is looking quite cold to start with and then a very hot day making clothing choices difficult. One of our group of 6 has had to pull out at the last minute due to a heart issue that will keep him off the bike for 2 weeks. We are still going as a group but he will not be riding and just supporting us unfortunately for him.
I’m struggling with a back strain this week that I can’t shake but I hope to be ok by Sunday. All our training has finished for this event and we are in a tapering or adaption week with only light activities so we are fresh for Sunday. Don’t know how it’s all going to pan out on the day but hopefully it won’t be too painful.
As soon as we get back on Tuesday I’m back into it again for a week or so before tapering again for the MTN Trails 24HR mountain bike event – that is definitely going to hurt and only 24 days away now! All the self doubt about have I done enough training and the like has been in my mind lately but hopefully the training plan I followed has me in the right space. I’m considering doing a few other events latter in the year while my fitness levels are up and make the most of all the training I have done. My recovery time from the 24HR will determine what is possible though.
