Prospect Mountain & historic 1831 Hellyer trig

Prospect mountain is just off the left of the PCT trail on a high point (1034M) about 45-60 minutes from the Cradle Mountain Link Road high point. Here hidden in the button grass on top is one of the oldest survey markers in the state. It is believed Henry Hellyer placed it in 1831. See this Geocache for more information.

Great views of so many peaks including the Black Bluff range, Lake Lea, Mt Beecroft and Cradle area. Track is narrow with a few muddy puddles and plenty of button grass.
