Sidling second attempt
After our aborted Sidling attempt half way into it 2 weeks ago Sharon wanted to give it another try as her last training run before next weekends Amys Gran Fondo as it’s a similar distance and amount of elevation. Today we had much better luck with the weather arriving in 2 hours at the Sidling rest area to a clear sunny view.
Sharon now believes me that the ascent is quite easy and a lot of fun as there is only one steep section at the start. We sat around in the sun chatting to a guy on a Honda Gold Wing (Lead Wing) but got moving after a while to get back for a late lunch. I had my GoPro on the back of the bike so I did a time lapse of the decent including an interesting moment near the bottom where I got a rear flat at speed. I managed to pull up safely and got it changed Ok.

We did the 100km in just under 4 hours and it was very pleasant on this 18 degree day. Sharon has now ticked the Sidling off her bucket list and she is primed for next weekends ride in Victoria.
