Strava has a monthly challenge called the ‘Grand Fondo‘ to ride a certain distance in one ride (130km this month) to get an award. Sharon had only ridden 102km before today but put down the challenge to get her first fondo in the bag.

After a chilly start we picked up Emily and Cynthia at Kings Meadows on the way through. Emily was a bit under dressed for the -2 morning and returned just before Nile. We road from Evandale to Deddington and back as this is the course for next weekends road race round 4 of the Sprung SuperChix series that Sharon is participating in. Through to Perth on Old Mill Road and we picked up Liz, then onto Longford for a quick refuel at JJ’s.

The four of us then headed out through Bishopsbourne, Carrick then onto Westwood road for the trip back past Tasmania Zoo and down Ecclestone to home. A tad under 140km. Awesome effort and a new benchmark distance for Sharon.
