The VETs racing today was not cancelled after I wrote it would be in yesterdays blog but the weather cleared and despite half of the entrants waiting for the SMS to say it was off it went ahead. A very nervous Sharon registered at Longford for her first VETs race.

They are a very friendly bunch and looked after the 4 newbies racing today. Sharon was put in ‘G’ grade this week and came home with first place just in front of Hilary who got 3rd in ‘F’ grade. She may find herself in ‘F’ grade next time?

Just like yesterday there was a hand written envelope that this time had $15 inside. Not bad work for friendly ride. Sharon found the pace a lot higher than she was used to but made it OK with the encouragement of the others and some helping out with etiquette and rider norms.

There is no racing on the long weekend so there is another 2 weeks till the next race. I am sure one or both of us will give it a go unless we are mountain biking some where.
