Tour de Norfolk Plains
Four of us entered the Tour de Norfolk Plains charity ride but unfortunately Dan is still suffering from a crook knee and had to sit this one out. We all chose the longest ride of 102km to get some miles in the legs and a bit of a challenge. Emily, Chad, Sharon and myself rocked out to the Bishopsbourne Hall for the 8AM start. Surprisingly there was some fog around on the way out. The event was well attended with a large start group for the 102km event. 55km and 23km events were also on offer.
Conditions were perfect when we started but the last hour or so was getting very hot and a bit late to be out on the bike really. Everybody made it although there were some minor rubs and a bit of chafing among us all. The event was well run with marshals at every turn and well sign posted. Plenty of banana’s, apples and sausages at the end and even a certificate of completion if you wanted one. Sharon was stoked just to have ridden 102km for the first time. An enjoyable morning ride in the quiet countryside of Tassy supporting a few charities.
